Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Yeshua HaMashiach. May you rejoice with us in love as we see the fulfillment of our Messiah in the feasts and holy days of autumn.

Update on Hebrew Messianic Christian Institute

At this time, we want to give you an update as to how God has been leading here at Shalom Ministry. As you may know, we have partnered with Destiny Christian School; and our newly established Hebrew Messianic Christian Institute is now meeting regularly each week. We are so very thankful for the students, who have shown a desire to explore the Jewish roots of our faith and more importantly, are developing a genuine passion for Jewish evangelism. (To learn more about the Institute, please call the school at 586-773-6568.)

Pastor Denson Interview on Christian TV

We are increasingly using the Internet and Christian TV to reach out to the community with our message of salvation to the Jew first and to everyone else. To watch a recent television interview with Pastor Tony Umber and me, please go the following URL on YouTube:

Part I

John talks about his salvation experience. He was saved while serving a prison sentence through Chuck Colson’s prison ministry. He also speaks about his love for the Jewish people and the Jewish roots of Christianity. He has a heart to reach out to the Jewish people to bring them to their messiah.

Evangelistic Campaign Planned for the Spring

We’re planning our very first major evangelistic campaign in the Jewish community this coming spring, a door-to-door evangelistic outreach to witness to every Jewish person we encounter. Please cover us with your prayers as we prepare our team.

The Lord Provides! New Office Space Thanks to the Faithful

Donna and I are thankful to Dr. Tim and Ellie Broe for providing us with new office space in Farmington Hills. Not only have they provided the space at no cost to the ministry, but they have also blessed us with furniture, desks and a computer. We are exceedingly thankful for what God has done through this very special couple.

A Call to Arms

Please consider standing beside our ministry. We are doing so much with so little financial support. Consider becoming a Shalom Ministry monthly partner. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Mat 6:21) We realize that times are hard, but is it within your means to make a commitment to $5.00 or more a month in order to bring the message of salvation back to Yeshua’s brothers? We owe the Jewish people so much for they “were entrusted with the oracles of God” (Rom 3:2) and as the Mashiach has stated “salvation is from the Jews.” (Joh 4:22) The story of Joseph being sold into slavery and his reconciliation prefigures the Mashiach’s desire to be reconciled to His brethren in the flesh:

Then he fell upon his brother Benjamin’s neck and wept, and Benjamin wept upon his neck. And he kissed all his brothers and wept upon them. After that his brothers talked with him. (Gen 45:14-15)

You can share in this outreach and make a dramatic difference to one of the most under evangelized groups in America (much to our shame). Not everyone can go and commit the time or the resources but by partnering with our ministry you can rejoice that the when “there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luk 15:10) How much more so when the Mashiach is accept by one of His brothers in the flesh?

Our day-to-day operation keeps Donna and me quite busy, not only interacting with Jewish people, but also counseling and leading Bible studies and worship on Shabbat. Believe me when I say, “Our cup runneth over!” However, in terms of funding, I’m afraid our cup isn’t even half full. I’m somewhat concerned as to why we haven’t heard from some of our supporters for several months. Donna and I do pray for all of you who support us, whether financially or prayerfully; and we’re asking the Lord to release the funds—even as we look for new and creative ways to develop resources for the ministry.

Executive Director Of Jews For Jesus To Be Our Keynote Speaker

Among these fundraising endeavors will be our first sit-down banquet, to be held Friday, November 19, at Bloomfield Hills Baptist Church. I am pleased and honored to announce that David Brickner, executive director of Jews for Jesus, is to be our keynote speaker. Along with David, Dr. Jerry Piscopo will be our master of ceremonies, and many other outstanding guests have agreed to be part of this special event. We are looking for God to show Himself strong that evening and enable us to meet our fiscal goal. Watch for a brochure with additional details to arrive in the mail soon. You don’t want to miss this one!

A Sit Down Meal

By the way, Donna, a staff member or I may be calling some of you personally. Since this is a sit-down meal, we need to be particularly careful that registration is in order and that we are being good stewards with regard to the cost of the event. We certainly want you to have a part in the evening’s success; so, if you are not free to attend on that date, would you consider sending a donation to help cover the banquet costs?

Finally, our board is busy developing strategies and raising money corporately so that we can continue to expand Shalom Ministry. We covet your prayers and your earnest commitment to the ministry, as we desperately need your prayerful financial support to carry the Word to God’s chosen people.

Prayer Requests

I am continuing to visit a Jewish brother in the Oakland County Jail. Please join us in prayer that he will soon receive his Messiah and that God will provide wisdom as we work with him.

Please continue in prayer for the salvation of our Jewish friends, including Carl, Mark, Coby, Mr. Borenstein, Mrs. Goldstein, Barry, Paula (a Holocaust survivor), Gary and Paula, Moe and Diana, Mrs. Cohen, Michelle, Alana, Liz and Stella, Rebecca and Ross, Jonathan, Liz and Brian, and Bella. Please join us in fervent prayer for the Holy Spirit’s intervention in their lives and that they will receive Messiah as Savior and Lord. We are also requesting a special prayer for our volunteer staff writer and her family.
